Project Goal.

D (the) Capital is a holding company and accelerator focused on nurturing untapped, talent-led luxury brands through innovation, marketing, and distribution. The objective of this project was to quickly launch a surface-level website that still embodied the company’s elevated, exclusive positioning. The challenge was to deliver something minimal yet impactful, reflecting D (the) Capital’s refined aesthetic and forward-thinking ethos, within a tight timeline. We collaborated closely with the client to define their immediate needs and ensure the site served as a clear and compelling digital introduction to their vision.

Key Decisions.

For this project, we chose Squarespace as the platform, given that D (the) Capital doesn’t sell physical products and needed a clean, editorial-style presence. In cases like this, I typically prefer Squarespace over Shopify for portfolio or brand showcase sites, as its interface is more intuitive for clients, especially when they may want to manage or update content themselves without ongoing maintenance. Additionally, Squarespace offered more flexibility for our needs: we integrated custom CSS and Python scripts, and the platform’s structure made that process more efficient. With a tight timeline and the need for lazy loading to optimize performance, Squarespace proved to be the best tool for a quick yet polished delivery.

Results.

We successfully delivered a website that met the client’s expectations—elevated, minimal, and built within a short turnaround. The “Contact Us” page was fully set up and functional, and the landing page showcasing their projects provided a clear, compelling introduction for potential new partners. The goal was to create a digital business card-style website, and we achieved that with efficiency and attention to detail. The client was pleased with both the outcome and the flexibility of the platform, which allowed them to confidently present their vision to the outside world.
